2 Days Tanzania Camping Safari

Description
Itinerary
Inclusions

Our 2 days/one-night safari to Tarangire and Ngorongoro safari is tailored for you! Take a game drive on the sweeping savannah encircling the Tarangire river and watch the droves of beasts scratch around for water. Descend into the stunning Ngorongoro crater for some endangered black rhino and Big 5 sightings. These two parks light up the Tanzanian safari firmament with some breathtaking wilderness

Tarangire National Park, home to Tanzania’s largest elephant population, is a fascinating park during the dry season when the Tarangire River becomes a vital source of water for animals throughout the region. As vast herds of wildebeest and zebra move to the river to replenish, the park’s lions, leopards, and hyenas capitalize on a dynamic display of nature’s cruel beauty. It’s then on to the world-famous Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where cape buffalo, rhinoceros, and hippopotamus can be spotted amid the caldera’s verdant plains. A picnic lunch by the hippo pool is a rare treat, allowing you to have a meal within a few dozen feet of these intimidating herbivores.

Day 1: Moshi - Tarangire National Park

Non game-viewing travel time: 3 hours

Distance: 203 km

Pick up from hotel after breakfast we head into the Tarangire National with lunch box . The park runs along the line of the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. Both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals, during Tanzania's dry season. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. This African national park is also home to three rare species of animals - the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, as well as a few Ashy Starlings. We return to the lodge/campsite.
